Product Description

Product Description
High Quality  Acrylic polyurethane Paint to Protect Vessel / ship / yacht

Rusting (corrosion) of ships is a complex chemical and electrochemical process. The main reasons include the high salinity of seawater, the characteristics of metal materials, and complex marine environmental factors. The following is a detailed analysis of the reasons why ships are prone to rusting:                                                                                                                                         1. Seawater contains a large number of chloride ions , which can penetrate the oxide protective film on the metal surface (such as the oxide layer of steel) and accelerate the corrosion of metals.                                                                                                         2. Chloride ions react with iron to form soluble chlorides, resulting in the continuous dissolution of the metal. Different metals are used in different parts of the ship (such as steel hulls and copper alloy propellers), forming a potential difference in the electrolyte (seawater), triggering the flow of current and causing the corrosion of the metal with a lower potential (such as steel).                     3. Microorganisms such as sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) in the ocean attach to the surface of the ship's hull, and their metabolism produces hydrogen sulfide  and acidic substances, which damage the metal structure and accelerate corrosion. 4.Waves, sediment, floating ice, etc. impact the ship's hull, damaging the anti-rust coating and exposing the metal. The cavitation effect generated when the propeller rotates at high speed peels off the surface protective layer.                                                    Ship rusting is the result of the combined action of multiple factors, and comprehensive measures such as regular maintenance and coating protection are required to extend the service life of the ship.

3. What is the recommended surface preparation before painting?
For best results, ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and loose particles. Patch any cracks or holes, and consider using a primer for better adhesion.

4. Can your paints be used on different surfaces?
Yes, our paints are formulated to work on a variety of surfaces such as drywall, wood, concrete, and metal ect. Always check the product label for specific surface compatibility.

5. How many coats of paint are usually needed?
While one coat might suffice in some cases, two coats are recommended for an even finish and better coverage, especially when transitioning to a lighter color.

6. What is the drying time between coats?
Drying times can vary based on environmental conditions. As a general guideline, wait for the first coat to be touch-dry before applying the second coat. This can range from 2 to 4 hours.

7. Are your paints environmentally friendly?
Yes, we offer eco-friendly options with low VOC (volatile organic compounds) content, reducing harmful emissions and promoting better indoor air quality.

8. How do I clean and maintain painted surfaces?
Use a mild detergent and water to clean painted surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the paint. Regular maintenance helps preserve the paint's appearance and longevity.

9. Can I paint over old paint without stripping it off?
In many cases, yes. Ensure the old paint is clean, well-adhered, and not peeling. Lightly sand the surface for better adhesion, and consider using a primer before applying a new coat.

10. Can I use your paints for exterior surfaces?
